Octavia Sport

Featured Replies

Just been at my local dealer..to get some windscreen washer jets, again  ...then popped over to the sales side.

Ask sales person about the new RS...December he said and he didn't have any other info.

All he had was some stuff on the new Octavia Sport....pd140, body kit, 17'' aloys and sports suspension and some other toys...

The sport (however lovely it is,which it is) will simply become defunct.

I would have thought anyone looking for a car in december time (sporty car) will simply pay the extra few hundred pounds for the RS.They wont sell any sports after december.

Very odd pricing skoda has  (I know its speculation ;) )

Even then I recon it probably too expensive...6month old EVO 260 will cost around the same but obviously with the higher insurance and running costs.

You would have to wonder why there are Evos for sale that soon , and they are very different types of cars anyway. You could happily use a VRS for daily motoring , but an evo would get tiresome and expensive pretty quickly.

As for what price the new VRS comes in at.....

I can't see them making it only a couple of hundred quid more than the sport. Either the sport will have to be reduced in price or 18.5 is going to be where the VRS starts

TO be honest the sport reads like a vRS spec but with a PD140 engine...would not be surprised if the sport is a sneaky preview of the vRS, but they are waiting to clear "tour" models or fsi blocks.

That may be rubbish, but the sports spec is pretty good.

I was at my local Skoda dealer today, he said he thought that they might be putting a petrol and a diesel engine in the new Octavia vRS...

That's kind of what I thought - suspect the vRS might have much the same equipment, but with a nice petrol engine. Traditionally, diesels being more expensive than petrols, this would mean that the vRS could quite possibly work out cheaper than the Sport.

Whether that should be the case or not...well, it's all marketing, and it's not like the vRS is the most expensive version of the previous generation Octy.

One TLA, ESP....hammer into a roundabout trailbraking to apex, and power...any wibbly stuff the esp sorts out allowing you to enjoy that sideways motion if you over cooked it :D

ESP rocks! Except it can slow you down aswell :(

You're such a chav honestly

The Fabia Sport is a bit of an oddity aswell I think. Although they have included remote central door locking and electric windows as standard now.

Although they might not be 'factory' fit on all cars.
