Clonking Noise

Featured Replies

I have a clonking noise when starting off and changing gear and when braking. It feels as though there is slack being taken up, it can also be felt through the steering as well as the pedals when going over bumps slowly.

Booked in for Thursday but does anyone have an idea what it could be?

Yeah, mine does the same thing, since it has been new. I always accepted it as normal. If it turns out to be something wrong, please post.

regards

Mark

possible anti-roll bar link rod !

let me know if it is the anti roll bar cos that would explain the funny noises i get on track....always assumed it was Ian's (Tavia4x4) brain rattling in his head but could be anti roll bar!

:p

seriously Ian this could be "the" clunk from croft....?

The garage have confirmed that it is the lower wishbone nut that has come loose. Unfortunately, it is a captive nut in the subframe. So it needs a new subframe!

I won't get the car back until middle of next week! Only had the car three weeks:mad:

can you find out if its a known issue affecting a few cars?

Paul,

Describe the clunk you got, was it under heavy load compression/release?

Just wondering if you have the same issue I had with the KW's going coil bound, especially if you were running "low" and exerting a bit more force...unless it's all from the front...in which case lordy only knows.

According to Skoda Customer Service the person said this was the first time he had come across this affecting any of their cars.

The same spokesman who said that there wasn't a coil pack problem, by any chance? :(

And a windscreen problem

What's the windscreen problem?

The garage didn't even want to give me a car to use, I had to complain to customer services and have now got the use of a 1.0 litre Corsa

That is disgraceful service :(

How dare they say "give us your car for a week and oh, by the way, enjoy the walk"

It really pi$$es me off when "some" dealers take liberties like this.

I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more!!!!!
