Now released for download. £13.99.

It took 15 minutes to download via 50GB broadband then an estimated 32 minutes to install - now extended to 57 minutes...

Is that price direct from Apple?

Downloaded.

Looking forward to the notifications centre thingyma bob, and iMessages.

@KBPhoto - Yes, download through the App Store.

wassat then ?

Just downloaded it.

No problems encountered.

Yes, that is direct from apple. You need to access the Apple App store and purchase from there. There is currently no physical media version, and its download only (4.3GB).

I am now running it on my 2010 Macbook Pro and my 2011 27" iMac, installed on both faultlessly and all my software works fine.

It's nice to have Reminders between my iPhone and Macbook working properly. For some reason Reminders on the Macbook where on iCal, they never worked properly.

Just downloading it now. Looks like mine might be free as it's a 2012 MBP.

I can't work out how to see the download progress.

I have my fingers crossed it's going to fix my wifi dropouts.

Screen sharing to the ATV2 seems to be the only feature I really want (iplayer/4od etc to tv easily).

Word of warning - if you have bought a mac with lion server on it you'll not only have to buy Mountain Lion but a new server app as well, luckily it's only £13 with the server app but it's still a bit of kick in the teeth.

I'm on OS X 10.5.8, so no upgrade for me - not even by upgrading to 10.6 first...

Unless you know otherwise!

You should be able to do a clean install without lion, although you'd have to get the dmg.

I take it your limitation is that your hardware isn't supported?

Didn't have time to check the hardware requirements this morning, but I suspect not.

I could really do with the upgrade as my new camera file format is not supported by my version of Lightroom or Phototoshop & the new version of this software will not run on my current OS.

I'll see if I can find the hardware requirements and look for the newer OS on CD.

It wasn't free (wishful thinking obviously) and it hasn't fixed my wifi dropouts :wonder:

Think I probably started my download at the wrong time as it took 4+ hours. Install was about 45 minutes.

Might bite the bullet and get an Airport Extreme, although I don't see why I should as the three other PC's in my house have never missed a beat with the router.

Re WiFi dropouts: Are you sure it's not the actual Mac?

Oh word of warning, ML breaks your keyboard backlight settings, stopping the brightness keys from working. Go into the keyboard settings and turn off the auto dimming feature.

Yes, fortunately or unfortunately, whichever way you look at it. It went to the Genius Bar at the Brighton Apple store for 24 hours of testing and it didn't miss a beat in the 45 minutes I was there, trying to replicate the fault, nor did it the rest of the time it spent with them.

Obviously just doesn't like my router or is suffering from interference by other nearby wifi.

Also stops the volume control keys from working too....I found it wasn't the auto dimming feature, but rather the option to use F1, F2 etc as standard function keys. Turn that off, and normal operation was resumed.

Been waiting over 24hrs for my code from the "up to date" program.

Can't see why I need a code - they already know when, where and how I bought the bloody thing....

Once I've got in installed (macbook pro 13" June 2012 model) I might be able to pass judgement on it.

Not seen any issues with my model though.

Content code has arrived.

Bizzarrely sent an email with PDF attachement (which contains the code) followed by another email which has the password for the PDF...

Will download tonight.

I've downloaded ML and my Brightness/volume keys work perfectly

am I missing something??

Installed, and all my keys work fine.

In fact, the only real difference I can see so far is the notifications bar on the rhs...

I think there's a fair bit of under the hood stuff.

There is also reminders, and messages, which is doubly good if you have an iPhone yourself, but especially if you have friends with iDevices. I think some of the colours have changed slightly as well.

Just put M.L. on my Air, as a freebie upgrade, havent really noticed any difference yet, as i am backing up from scratch using time machine, it is however taking forever to backup, this time, I backed up just after i bought the machine & it only took a couple of hrs :wall:

Took 36 hrs to get the code, the download & install only took 45 mins :giggle:

Look forward to seeing what differences there are

Brightness keys for keyboard backlight stopped working on both mac laptops as soon as we upgraded.

Liking the notification centre, especially for mail - a lot like Outlook's mail notification on the PC. Screensharing is nice as well but it does knockout using the laptop at the same time, I'm looking at seeing if it'll work with OSX in a VM.

Other nice features are the progress bar on file icons which are copying and the new safari feature to switch between tabs using mouse gestures but it's a pretty minor upgrade for me.

The scanning app has changed as well. There seem to be lots of little changes here and there.

A couple of the headline features are airplay streaming to Apple TV (but only for machines bought after 2011) and Facebook/Twitter integration (which if you read the small print will not happen until later in the year).

Having a read of the forums on the Apple website it seems some users are having issues with older versions of some software, things like Parallels and some of the Adobe CS Suite. I would check all software/hardware compatibility before upgrading.
