312mm upgrade / whats the best discs and pads to get?

Featured Replies

I have just bought some 312mm octavia calipers and carriers for my fabia and was wondering what discs and pads i should get, price doesnt matter at the moment but i want the best lol also where is the best place to get them from? cheers guys

Well covered on here, but I run OEM spec discs with Ferodo DS2500 pads.

Worth noting that the DS2500 are not strictly road legal but they stop you very well indeed.

are the oem discs drilled and grooved or just vented? what prices are we talking?

i just got the cheap drilled/grooved disks off ebay, around £65 i think and ebc greenstuff pads, around the £60 mark too, skoda make the worst abs system ever though so that interferes with late braking a lot of the time, next chance i get its getting switched off..

Tbh unless your going on track days theres not much point, tried drilled/groved loads of noise thats about it, would go for twin pot callipers ext.. For Proper stoping power

no noise at all.... brakes used to just fade after a couple of minutes of fast driving with plain 312mm disks and oem pads.. dont fadeat all anymore but the abs kicks in far to prematureley for me.. the wheels are far from locking up when it kicks in and if you brake when going over some ironworks in the road the abs just locks the pedal out and i have to get off and back on the pedal again fast!!

Even under extreme conditions such as a nurburgring weekend there is no need fo anything other than oem disks and ferrodo ds2500 pads and decent brake fluid, not once did i ever even get a hint of brake fade with this setup and my old se saw more track action and abuse on airfield days than most

i looked on ebay and found a set of discs and pads by the name of piranha for £176 item number 260891284359 and i also think drilled and grooved discs would look better under my octy wheels lol
