Custom Map Guy - Im Amazed

Featured Replies

Took a friends caravelle 2.5 tdi y reg to an ecu mapper not too far from me. He dyno'd the velle and found it to be cracking out 82 bhp, plugged it in and basically just got it running as well as he could, smoothed out flat spots, got it to perform as it should, dyno'd again 105 bhp and 139lbft torque

Then he hooked up again and played a bit and got a nice smooth dyno curve, ironed out some more issues, dyno'd a 3rd time, he was happy with progress so went for the last go into system.

Yet again he dyno'd it so 4 times, and showed all the results on one graph. Start stats were

82 bhp 120lbft

finished product dyno'd to death and very proffessionally examined and tailored:

112 bhp and....... a massive...... 390lbft of torque

The drive home was astonishing!!!!! Night and day, passed evrything, up hills was a doddle relatively and before i could not get more than 85 mph out of it on way home (which was on a raceway designed for going fast and has no limits:-) it was cruising at 110 and i wasnt flat out.

All that and four dyno's a fully adapted map for the car he is doing and personal tuning to compensate individual engines was £250

Is that not cheap????? Im gonna get mine done!!!!!! GRANT ENGINE TUNE - Auchterarder top top guy and knows his craft, lives the figures and knows off top of his head what to do.

astonishing

4th gear is now a triumph mate, really quite unbelievable, and i got the dyno print out with it and was present for the lot, numbers are all here

440lb-ft torque? Really? New clutch and transmission needed in the next 50 miles

aye indeed, he did clutch but fitted a dmf again, i stated my thoughts of that being a mistake.

Sorry i got it wrong, i had read a side bit of the graph earlier, his torque is now 390lbft my apologies its now amended

And for £250 bloody cheap too!! lol

aye took about 3.5 hours, i lost count of the amount of times he pushed his glasses up his nose, and he was genuinley proud of his work afterwards too and was eager for me to test it locally and tell me what i thought, and phoned later that night too.

Good customer relations too, please say you traveled to the north of england to get it done and that he's not around Perth lol

102bhp or something, its not the v6, but it was taking the torque really well, and alot of them had already galloped off
