Skoda Fabia 1.4l 16v 51 plate multiple warning lights

Featured Replies

Hi,

Brought a Skoda Fabia 1.4l 16v 51 plate a few weeks ago and all went well for a week before the engine management light came on but the car felt fine with no issues that I could notice. Managed to get a code scanner and it came up p0402 egr excessive flow. I was looking at trying to sort the problem myself when the abs and tcs warning lights have now come on but no more fault codes have come up. Not having the best of luck so far and was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? If so can I fix this myself and would resetting the fault codes give a better indication of the issue before I have to go to a garage?

Probable causes for this code are:

  • hose leak/blockage
  • basic setting not carried out (if applicable)
  • wiring
  • EGR valve
  • EGR solenoid
  • electronic control unit

Hope this helps.

It could be a cheap/easy fix, EGR pipes blocked which need cleaning along with the throttle body and possibly a cracked 40 amp fuse on top of the battery.

Just checked the fuses and there was a cracked one so nice easy fix for that, any advice on the egr system clean up? Anything that will make the job easier?
