First variable service due - Garage recommendations Glasgow

Recommended Posts

As the title says after 19 months and 13K miles my first service is due. Any recommendations for who I should get to service it? Local dealer would be Henry's, any good / bad reports?

I also believe there is an independent VAG specialist in Bishopbriggs, again, anyone used them?

Any pointers appreciated.

Cheers.

(Petrol VRS by the way...)

I use Henry's for all my servicing and bought my current Vrs from them they have been first class in my dealings with them. Their master tech is a top notch guy too and will take time to have a chat or help with any question you have.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well used their 'contact us' link last week to enquire about getting my car serviced and guess what? I am still waiting for them to make contact with me...

It really annoys me when companies claim to have a web presence then just disregard avenues of communication from prospective customers. This is one customer who will likely be taking his business elsewhere...

Henry's website has been or is in the process of being updated. For main dealer servicing in Glasgow it's either Henry's or Arnold clark and I know what one I would be using. It definitely wouldn't be Arnold clark. There will be independent vw specialists in the area like a for Audi but I have heard they are hit and miss and ain't much if any cheaper than dealer

I know I don't have a great deal of choice but it really hacks me off when companies fail to respond. Agree that there is no way I'd darken Arnold Sharks, had a very nasty experience with them previously, never again!

Hmm, well I've just been quoted £330 to carry out first variable service + fuel & air filter changes cos I want them done and fit two tyres (supplied by me)...

This is starting to sound expensive in comparison... (DMK Leeds)

Sounds expensive. Here is the national pricing page from skoda uk.

My Vrs is due its first service. Telfords of Carlisle have told me £120 which I think is reasonable for a dealer.I know its just an oil change but if it keeps the warranty right its worth it.

if its just an oil change go to a specialist thats vat registered, my local on takes £60 for oil and filter using vag parts and quantum oil. £120 is a scandal
