oil catch tank

Featured Replies

I know this has been mentioned a few times, but I am attempting to do a D.I.Y catch tank, with the intention of making a guide of some sort with price lists and where parts came from.

The one thing I am having problems with is the hosetail connectors.

Does anyone know the internal diameter of the intake pipe on the rocker cover?

Would be a big help as they are the only components I need now.

Thanks

I should be doing full kits very soon.

Sounds good. What sort if price would they be? I've got a very temporary and hugely pikey dog food can lol

It's a great mod; did mine 4 years ago and no problems - but - you do need to check and empty the can at intervals linked to the type of journey (etc) so placement is important. Having forgotten once, I took it off and put a piece of washing machine hose from the cover down behind the cam-belt cover. No problems with MOT.

Depends on the can - but probably about £40. But will come with pipes, clamps, bracket & catch tank.

What size connecting pipes do you use on the tank itself

The hose I used for my first kit was about 30mm, but I can't remember I'll have to go measure it!!! :-)

I have read on that thread that 19mm is used quite sufficiently for the job as long as its oil resistant. Personally I would vent to atmosphere and block the inlet manifold as many have done.
