It's not the short trips issue which concerns me as she does varied driving albeit a lot is short trips, it's more the lack of taking her cars above the absolute minimum revs which concerns me re: getting her a DPF equipped car.

She's very happy with her non DPF diesel Ka so perhaps I'll abandon this attempt at bringing her in to the fold and just look at spending some money on the Octy :)

Thanks everyone for the input

Hi All

Mike,Sharkrider

Is that the standard display or is it the maxi dot display.

Cheers

Its the maxi-dot display the standard display is about half the size and has green backlighting.

TSI engine is great and keeps getting better not had under 40mpg despite using the throttle a bit too much at times :p.

Best MPG so far on run of 20 miles coming back from Sheffield running Shell V-power with air con on:

I have had mine since June and put 3000 plus miles on same. 1.2 105bhp. Having now lived with it I am very pleased, and that is coming from a 1.9TDi vrs with a stage 1 remap that was 160bhp ! :whew: The reality is I do not miss the grunt and power of the vRS until I do a long trip, and then that is only at speeds above 80 on the motorways. In day to day running it is a great engine with the torque kicking in at 2000 rpm, and simply drive it in the 2K to 4K range and its fine. Also so quiet.

It has not used one drop of oil. The only disappointment for me is the mpg has dropped quite a lot. Forget the trip, it is way out, as it was on the vRS. I always run my tank to low and re fill and work it out. Best ever had 44mpg on a sedate run motorways, around town local driving always comes in at around 38-39 mpg. How they come up with some of the stats is beyond me. Still, I am pleased with it, and have no regrets.
