Rear Rollerblind Rattles

Featured Replies

I have a 3 week old brand new 2012 Octavia L&K which comes with the rear rollerblind as standard. I decided to use it a few days ago and since retracted or unrolled to fix on the plastic lugs above the hatch window it now rattles when going over certain bumps in the road. It also rattles when I'm inside the car and shut the drivers door. It's driving me mad! Anyone know how to resolve this, without taking it off the car? ( It's not obvious how it's fixed on the parcel shelf anyway). It's a 20 mile drive to the dealer who would probably say "They all do that sir, it's a feature" It didn't do it until I used it.

Hi JonnoVRS

Mine rattles when it's up as well although it didn't the very first time I used it.

I know how to solve it-- sell it to me! Been trying to get my hands on a genuine one! :)

You should make a low offer on account of it rattling.

On standby with the WD40

I've tried electrical tape to hold the rod more flush to the housing and it still rattles over bumps although not as much. It never fails to rattle when I close the drivers door once inside.

I suppose a trip to the dealers is in order sometime. Has Techie got any advice?

Smithy 961 - It's not obvious how it's attached to the rear parcelshelf.
