Hey everyone,

I've just found out that my 2000 (Y) 1.4 petrol Fabia Elegance hatchback has a radiator leak. I've got some prices/estimates from garages, but I've been looking at buying the part online and having a garage fit it for me. Is this a route that anyone would recommend/advise against?

I'm not sure exactly which radiator model I would need, I've been on eurocarparts.com, where you can enter the reg/model of the car and it lists around 5 radiators which are suitable for my car. I just have no idea which I should consider buying.

Garages seem to be quoting me £220-£300 to replace the radiator and the radiators are around £60-120 online. If anyone has any thoughts or advice I would really appreciate it.

You just need to choose the raditor that matches your car best.

Yours is petrol and has A/C (I assume so being the elegance).

I think it requires the bumper to come off which would explain the fairly high cost in labour.

Just had a look using your car details.

If you click on the items it gives you there is a description.

The Eis brand ones they do there is one that is listed for vehicle with/without A/C.

It also lists the dimensions so might be just as easy to go out and measure the rad on your car at the monent.

Thanks a lot for the help and advice, hopefully I can sort something out soon!

Bear in mind if your gonna do it yourself, deffo a good time to do a coolant flush and renew it if its not been done in a while, so add that to the price as well. Otherwise you can re-use it provided its well within its suggested lifespan. Just make sure you filter it through to get all the crap out, and top up any with fresh coolant anyway.
