After market headunits

Was just wondering around halfords and was looking at the headunits, is it me or have they got boring and all look the same?

Noticed the specs are mostly less than they used to be too, only coming with one or two preouts.

Had a Sony ca-900 years ago that looked really good with a black screen and a chrome half circle on it when turned off (will try and get pics later) and 3 preouts so the front, rear and sub could be controlled.

Anyone else think headunit design have taken a step back?
