  • Nick - to be honest, I didn't pick the best pic to start from - will give it a go later on! Anzio - this is Briskoda; a Skoda forum. And this thread is in the Yeti section, as it pertains to a Yeti.

  • I really think a yeti could work you know. Aired out, some nice retrimmed recaros in there, maybe some big brakes, the right set of 20s, sick sound system. Pimp that mother right out. Nobody with me o

  • Clearly a personal attack suggesting that Nick isn't...........tut, tut, tut In your opinion Nick has been a pioneer, being the first person in the UK to fit air suspension to his Mk2 Octavia vRS

that looks sweet

Wouldn't last a morning round our lanes. Any use to you, Bob?

What an utter load of complete parc!!

(I'm being polite!!)

What do you mean?

You're god damned right it does.

What do you mean?

It's not a standard Yeti, Nick

Oh right. Is air and stuff frowned on on yetis? Just thought it would be a pretty cool thing to do after seeing the Tiguans. Maybe I'd be best off doing it it to a Tiguan?

Only trouble would be the small boot I think. Gonna be tight to keep it practical with a sub, air tank and compressors in there. Not like doing an octavia / superb.

Graham is Welsh, they spell everything backwards to confuse the English ... he's dead right though. I think that would get ... oooh ... 50 yards up our hill before all kinds of stuff started getting ripped of the undersides. It is a pile of poo and it stinketh. Can we not get a moderator/administrator to delete it?

But the beauty of air ride is that you could put it up to standard Yeti mega-ground clearance one minute, then drop it for GTi International the next

I say go for it, Nick, you know you want to

Back under the bridge, Nick we're not biting!

Driven a Volvo FL12, air worked well on that, only trouble was, the 5000 gallon semi trailer on the back - used it to prevent wheel spin fully loaded on a standing start on an incline in the wet - never experienced these probs with my beast, maybe others have!

Perhaps it would have helped if "air ride" had been explained!

All that looks like is a slammed, pimped Tiggywinkle, which to me defaets the object of an off-road vehicle.

As I said, parc!!

From a practical point of view I think the rear would still go higher than stock, but certainly on air lift struts , the front isn't going to make it up to stock height when raised up. That mismatch puts me off the idea slightly, but it's not enough to make me abandon the idea completely.

I wouldn't be surprised that in a couple years' time, this would be done on the Yeti. TBH the Yeti should attract the modification community the same way a Toyota bB does (not big in the UK though)

The variable floor isn't quite high enough to hide a skinny 5 gal tank completely so it would need a partial cut out with an inch or two of the tank on show. Could look quite good. Compressors, manifold and amps could go under there.

White yeti urban would be a good starting point I think. Some 20" 3sdms and red recaro CSs?

I reckon we'll see one in Europe by Worthersee next year.

20" wheels! Pah we have yards and yards of chatter regarding the differences between 16 and 17" wheels and can't agree on that!

I think not. It would look like a pregnant rollerskate, won't get out of it's own way with even a small amount of smat on the road. The first pothole will require at least one new wheel.

I guess I am too oldfashioned to fathom the desirability of those lowered and pimped cars with 3 inch exhausts and 200 Amp sound systems, which can only just creep around on flat tarmac and have to pussyfoot around in the wet to stay on the road. Ahhh, the search for significance :)

But then, I don't see the desirability of full body tattoos either.

Couple of VWs have air from the factory anyhow so not the massive leap anyhow.

I think a lot of critics don't understand the concept.

So perhaps someone should explain the concept!

I mean there are statements of that it won't go over anything, it's going to ground out and it won't handle well.

It raises up for driving, it's ground clearance will be perfectly ok. And if the right kit is purchased then the handling will be as good if not better than any suspension upgrade out there, be it Weitec, KW or the mystical but actually pretty parc Koni FSD.
