Yetis on air ride

Thanks yetifabia.

I've got a way further to go with the Octavia before I'm bored of it, but then I think either a Yeti or a Superb II estate are right at the top of my list, largely because I can just transfer all my air ride bits and some other mods straight over.

  • Nick - to be honest, I didn't pick the best pic to start from - will give it a go later on! Anzio - this is Briskoda; a Skoda forum. And this thread is in the Yeti section, as it pertains to a Yeti.

  • I really think a yeti could work you know. Aired out, some nice retrimmed recaros in there, maybe some big brakes, the right set of 20s, sick sound system. Pimp that mother right out. Nobody with me o

  • Clearly a personal attack suggesting that Nick isn't...........tut, tut, tut In your opinion Nick has been a pioneer, being the first person in the UK to fit air suspension to his Mk2 Octavia vRS

You know what, Nick... you might be on to something, been playing around roughly in Photoshop...

Care to post up your efforts? Would love to see. (doesn't matter if it's rubbish! :) )

Seen that in the past, and I'm still trying to work out how it steers!!

And it's illegal as the mudguards don't cover the tyre tread when viewed from above. :giggle:

Wow - that thing is - I actually can't think of a word for that. Special? Not in a good way.

I agree. I didn't mean to offend anybody. Having not posted in the Yeti forum, I just could never have predicted such an unpleasant response.

Been there, done that and got the t-shirt

I’m still not sure what other meaning there could be to air ride

Unless, Nick, it was being anticipated that you had in mind removing the wheels and turning into a hovercraft :)

Nick, I'll get a decent picture up tomorrow!

I have no idea what air ride or slammed mean and many other jargon words I've seen on Briskoda or hear on TV (dope???)

Doesn't stop me having a laugh trying to work out what they are referring to.

Welcome to the Yeti section Nick. Post what you like. What's the worst that can happen? It gets reported to a moderator. ie you

Clearly you've never dallied with a young lady on a bouncy castle

Rear wheel steering ... and UK construction and use regulations don't apply in the US

Cleaned up a bit from yesterday, but here we go:

Good effort Babs. Certainly some potential in the idea. Needs to be lower though.

I think if Nick had started this thread in Yeti Project Journals it would have saved a lot of bitchiness. The Yeti forum has always been a good one, this has started to drag in people from outside who don't even have a yeti. Come on guys, lets keep it like it was.

PS I agree with Graham, make thread titles understandable to all.

Nick - to be honest, I didn't pick the best pic to start from - will give it a go later on!

Anzio - this is Briskoda; a Skoda forum. And this thread is in the Yeti section, as it pertains to a Yeti. Like it or not, the Yeti section is part of the greater Briskoda forum. Just because we don't own Yetis, does not mean we don't have the right to post here. Hell, just because you do have a Yeti doesn't give you the right to post here. We all abide by the rules set out upon joining. It's a discussion forum, we're discussing things. And this section is the most appropriate. Project Journals are about real, physical cars; this is an ideas thread about a car that may or may not even exist at this time.

Unless of course you think the mod that created this thread has put it in the wrong section? :giggle:

And he isn't even a FREEDOM member

Not criticising, but.....

Are they?

Looking at other Project areas they have included "ideas"

Anzio - best bet, if a thread doesn't interest you or you don't understand it, just don't read past the first post and then ignore it from then on. Why do people struggle with that? Also - what has it got to do with a project journal - I was asking if it had already been done and then just bouncing a few ideas around - that doesn't constitute a project.

I suppose it depends on your interpretation of the word "Project".

Some seem to be taking it as it only applies to a physical entity whereas others, me included, seem to be saying that a "project" starts with an idea, like Nick's.

I have asked the question elsewhere for a ruling.

Oh give it a rest! I rarely visit the non-Yeti forums. Why? Because they're full of this sort of childish bickering. The joy of the Yeti forum is that for the most part it's free of that kind of stuff. Now I have no objection whatsoever to non-Yeti types joining in discussions on here; as has been rightly stated this is a Briskoda site, and the Yeti forum is just part of the bigger picture - and that's fine. Just leave your poison at the door and engage with us in the spirit we've established. Grow up!

I love these sort of posts. Basically, if you disagree with me it's childish bickering. Nick P started a perfectly reasonable thread which some people couldn't understand and got stroppy about. I don't see why he should be censured! I also visit the other fora and the model specific ones are generally a lot better than this one. They certainly don't suffer the level of self righteous pedantry that blights this forum.

Where does the censuring come from?

My complaint was the term "air ride" meant nothing to me (and others) and perhaps it could have been better explained. What I ridiculed was a photo of a Tiggywinkle that appeared to have no ground clearance, again because it hadn't been explained what it was.

Now it has been explained I certainly haven't ridiculed or censured Nick, even though I don't like the idea.

And if you think this forum is bad you ought to see some of the Suzuki or LR 4x4 forums, they make us look like pussy cats!

Babs that looks quite cool, maybe it's a vision of what is to come as the Yeti gets older and onto their 3rd and 4th owners.

That's really the way to go giving an administrator a rather poor first impression.

You don't regard, "what an utter load of complete c**p" as censure?
