Can't remove airbag

Featured Replies

Been at it all afternoon and all I've succeeded in doing is bending some screwdrivers!

Does anyone know if the removal method for this type of steering wheel is different to the usual way?

Wheel looks like this:

The thing is, i've had 3-spoke wheels off in the past fairly easily (my old mk4 Golf) and managed to separate my new wheel/airbag without any problems. But this is beating me.

Cheers.

yes it is the same but the clip are abit closer to the access hole

Ah, ok.

So I might not need to insert the screwdriver as far to move them aside?

Yes thanks.

If you use a mirror and look at the back of the wheel you can see the metal loop that needs to be moved.

Got it.

Use of the mirror really helped. Took seconds once I could see that the clips were really close to the opening.

Thanks for all the help.
