New car discounts?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Returning to site after flirtation with Freelander 2 which I still own, but SWMBO wants something smaller, so I am back to considering a new Yeti again.

Does anyone know what discounts are available from dealers, or a reliable internet source, as I was let down last year by an online discounter and my order was cancelled - hence move to LR.

What car seems to suggest around £1000 discount available from dealer, but can anyone confirm if this is realistically negotiable?

I will be looking at a 4WD CR140 DSG with a few options.

BTW the Freelander 2 is brilliant, but not as car-like as the Yeti, much larger and SWMBO finds it intimidating to park in our village, so that's really my reason for changing....

Hope some folks currently on the waiting list will reveal what they managed to negotiate...

Hi,

you could try Allams they gave me a very good deal on my current Yeti last year. I delt with James Rothwell but he's subsequently emergrated, therfore Beth would be a good contact;

[email protected] or her number is 01372 736502

Also try Lee Harrison at Prestons

or http://www.skodastore.com/index.asp think they mainly link you in with Rainworths of Mansfield

+1 - I also used Allams, originally through James Rothwell, mainly because I wanted to deal direct with a main dealer, and found them to be excellent and well worth the round trip from Tayside.

I used Skodastore.com and dealt with Rainworth Skoda, good discount, arrived at the dealer before estimate, they include free delivery but I preffered to go and collect.

Someone else used orangewheels, who were about the same as Skodastore.

Happynewcar have also been spoken well of,

I used Lookers in Stockport. Decent deal and the car arrived quickly.

I hear Renault are doing cars for cost price +£1, wonder if it will catch on.

:wonder: :wait:    Just think what that will do to the value of a new car purchest in the last year :wall:

Me too, speak to George Field.

Nearly matched a 'Drive the deal' price

My waiting time seems fairly standard, spec below

Thanks for all your replies guys, your comments are much appreciated. I will follow up on these leads and let you know how I get on

You could also try Andy Jones at Gordon Lamb in Chesterfield. Almost matched DtD and were significantly more competitive than other local dealers (approx 12.5% discount). Relatively easy access from North Yorkshire off Junction 29 of M1.

I have just bought my second Yeti via internet broker, this time from Happy New Car.

Not far from you, Simon Forth was excellent to deal with and I have a Greenline2 SE in Black Magic delivered within 4 weeks.

Hi,

With regards to discount deals, I'm located in the Glasgow area.

So just wondering if anyone has any contacts/names for good discounts within nearby Scottish dealerships?

I'm not entirely sure what discount would be offered, but my ideal spec so far is

140 TDI 4x4 Elegance DSG (Cappuccino/Gobi) with sat nav, park assist and a sparewheel.

Not sure if this would equate to 10, 11 or even 12% off?

The preferences would be to start locally if possible, before venturing out further south. Just want to avoid the additional travelling if it could be helped. But would obviously be happy to travel further if it meant 2-5% off compared with a whopping 12% :)

Anyways any advice would appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Hung
