Project Car Getting There

Featured Replies

My little Fabia is getting ther. So far the work done is;

1; Seat Surgeons York for the interior.

2' Angel Tune for the remap

3; Suspension and Brakes done by a great guy, Gary MacReynolgs at G1 Motorsport in Kilmarnock.

The car is pretty quick as it is I don't know whetehr to do anything further. Thought about taking it from 175 to 200bhp but don't want front intercooler. Want the relaibility to stay as good as it is. Any thoughts. Exhaust is still standard. Car has done 57K and has full service history, belts changed etc.

Give me your thoughts

Thanks

Sounds good. Got any pics?

If you want to get 200 bhp you will need a front mount, probably a new turbo as the standard one won't last too long with that much power!

circa 200bhp you might also have to consider an uprated clutch iirc

I thought that might have to be the case, If I push the boat out for 225 bhp I'd need a new turbo, front mounted ic, clutch upgrade and remap. May just leave as is. Even in its current form it goes very well and never burns a drop of oil.

you can't even get 200bhp from a pd150 turbo,to get over 200 you'd need a hybrid pd130 or pd150 . ..

175bhp is pretty much maxing out a pd130, there's people on here run 180bhp from standard turbo. . .for about a month then it went bang.

and the safe level for a pd150 is about 190bhp.

and clutch upgrades are dependant on torque. . you can always have it restricted during mapping,standard clutch is okay for 300ft/

Reliablility shouldnt be an issue when running a FMIC, hybrid turbo, uprated clutch as long as decent parts are used, fitted correctly and you get a good custom map.

To get up to 200bhp, as already mentioned, you'll need a new turbo but to maintain your reliability the clutch & intercooler should also be upgraded. Standard exhausts are apparantely good for 220bhp but I changed mine for a Milltek for noise and slightly bigger bore
