Rear reflector removal

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me please how to remove the the ones in the bottom corners of the rear bumper?

As far as I know it is an MOT failure to have no rear reflectors?

Now who's jumping to conclusions, I'm not going to leave them off I just want to know how to get them off for a deep clean detail.

I've no idea how to remove them mate sorry, but if you wanted ro leave them off it would still be legal as you have reflectors built in to the rear lights anyway

When I was rear ended it popped out on one side, from memory its a plastic tab that keeps it in place. Mine pushed back in easy enough. The (albeit split in the middle)

It looked like there was one at each end unless the others broke on impact.

. Mine is a vRS Combi though.

I will add how they actually come out I'm unsure as a silly women did mine, might be worth having a look at the underneath of the bumper first.

Hth a bit

Take care, I had a quick look at mine whilst washing it today, it looks to me as though you'll need a flat blade to get some leverage behind it to prise it off, I'd be too worried about snapping it or scratching the paint or creasing the plastic!

That's one serious deep clean!

I replaced mine as they were slightly dirty, you have to smash them off, they slide into center then clip

I left mine on when I wrapped the bumper, kinda wish I'd done this as I had to cut around them. Vinyl starting to shrink back so seriously thinking about doing this and redoing the rear bumper vinyl all together

Thanks for the answers folks and it confirmed what I thought after a good look yesterday but damn you bluevrs2, you just know I'm going to be looking at my bonnet release now :D

What tyres are you running by the way and how do you find them? I like the look of the tread pattern and will soon be in need of some new ones.

I had these on my black VRS - not bad, really nice design but the OEM Conti Sport 2 wipe the floor with them and are similar if not cheaper. Don't get me wrong - a very nice tyre but when I bought my set in 2009 they were still quite unknown and were available for £85 a corner. A prime case of some good reviews and better awareness hyping up the prices.

I'm just about to fit a set of Conti Sport Contact 5's so I'll feedback as and when on the forum.

Cheers  I 'watch' the tyre threads so look forward to it :)

Toyo T1-R every time for me

Cheers Harry, I used to run Toyo's on one of my Subaru's and was never disappointed, they're top of my list at the moment

How much for both fitted and balanced though

I run 235/35/19 so the cost of mine is irrelevant to the majority here, but they're usually around £95 each supplied IIRC?

You got a price and P/N for the replacements Alan? Will need to order some soon :)

After checking yesterday £216; £100 each inc VAT and deliv, trusted local guy to fit, balance etc each for £8.

That is a good price I paid 226 for a pair at Alba Tyres last year

Hi

My reflectors seem to be stickers rather than inserts, the car is a 55 plate pre facelift is that right??

Part numbers..........1Z0945105 AND 1Z0945106 £13.77 each plus vat I paid 29.74 in total but I get discount

Are yours the same though Steve being an Elegance?

Cheers Alan. Will likely swap bumpers soon, hence the question
