hello all,

just wondered if any of you fellow hyrbid owners noticed an increase in turbo noise or whistle when up-grading to a hybrid. I had the standard kkk and have replaced it with a hybrid PD150 turbo dynamic MD376 turbo. Forgive me if its obvious I just want to be sure. Mine just seems to be more 'vocal'. Its defo a whistle and not the rustling noise you get with a boost leak btw.

My hybrid sounded awesome! You could really hear it whoosing but not in a boost leak way

You know the sound of a boost leak it's just getting used to the hybrids different sound!

Yeah mine whistles too. You want a pd160 intake then modify it so its more of a cold air feed! You hear it suck the air!

On my old car I went from the standard KKK unit to the Allard VT2 Hybrid PD150 unit and it made much more noise, in a satisfying way. Spool up was nice and audible. Lovely, filthy boost!

just reading this post and ive just put a 150hybrid on my car and im getting loud noises like its got a huge boost leak but no lack of power. ive had all the intercooler pipes off twice and cleaned and re-connected them all and still got this noise. theres no oil around the joint and no obvious leaks at all. its not really lacking in power tho when its on boost but i dont want to drive it hard because of the noises its making! sounds like the biggest boost leak you could ever hear!

Doesnt sound good. My hybrid is a little more whistley, but not much tbh, only notice when I have the windows open and near a wall or something.

My studs that hold the exhaust in place fell out making a savage noise and still ran like a dream... Just a thought... Then my piston cracked.

Is that on the turbo to downpipe or the manifold? And fingers crossed my pistons dont go or ill be buying petrol, lighter and marshmellows!
