New Octavia Estate

Featured Replies

Hi I'm new to the forum, picking up my first skoda 1.6tdi tonight just wondered if there is anything to look out for before I take it away from the dealers

Cheers

Matt

welcome and enjoy, i had one as a courtesy car i was very impressed with it.

Body work is free from damage and marks, options fitted, run through of how the car works and interior free from damage.

Take your time and do not rush as it's easier to sort out then than after driven off the forecourt.

Thanks for the replies only asked because when I got my last car (fiat) there was a list of common faults. Hopefully all goes well

Check that the steering wheel is straight, and that there's no pull to one side when driving on a straight and level bit of road.

Get them to give you a full tank of fuel!

Enjoy!!

We have the 1.6Tdi & it's perfect for what we need.

It's not going to be fully laden, or carry 5 adults (well, not very often) & won't be towing

There's sufficient torque for our purposes & driving styles (& SWMBO is a lot quicker than me too)

Up to press (since purchase in early March), it's been perfect & returns nigh on 60MPG for SWMBO business trips down to Newport (Wales) & Bristol - even though it's seen about 23,000 miles added to it

It's predecessor (s manky C-Max 1.8 petrol) only turned in 32mpg at best!!!

And.... the front tyres still look to have perhaps 5,000 'ish' miles left in them!!
