Cupra 160 Air Intake.

Featured Replies

My Furbie vRS has been Superchipped for almost 6 months and I am pleased with the results. Would I gain anything from fitting the cupra 160 air Intake or should I have fitted one prior to having a Superchip?

Any thoughts or comments please :)

I'd get the Cupra intake, you'll get more fresh air going in which won't hurt. The amount of extra performance will probably be nill, but you'll get less smoke :)

You probably would have been better off getting it first... how about fitting it and then asking them for a "checkup" :rubchin:

I understand that the same Superchip "Brain" can be used on several cars A Custom Re-map is unique to one car. Could a Superchip be tweaked

Think you might be right there - most people on here choose custom remaps, and have noticed improvements if the pipe was fitted before the remap was done. If it's a preset ECU swap then there wouldn't be any room for tweaking. But if that is all it does, you're probably better off with an AMD one-click. It's cheaper or around the same price, and gives you the option of setting it back to standard where necessary or desirable, in about 5 mins. Not made my choice yet as the car's too new but once it's out of warranty I'll probably go for a full custom remap - and a better clutch :D

If the superchip is a generic remap the Cupra intake will help it - if it's custom it probably still will :)
