Headlight tinting

Featured Replies

This has probably been touched on but I can't find the answer I am after.

I have a black magic mk1 fabia vrs with xenons, I want to put a light smoke on the headlights and was wondering how many if any have pulled apart the headlights and sprayed the innards?

If so is there a guide on here or is there any guides on fitting lamin x tints?

Cheers

Steve.

taking the headlamp apart requires heating it in the oven to melt the bond between the lens and the main body. Not for the faint hearted or those who aren't good at DIY, Mecanno or Airfix kits IMO. Lamin-x, although not cheap, comes in a few smoked shades and could save you more hassle in the long run, with the advantage that it will offer some protection to the lenses from stone chips and UV. I have it on my front fogs and it does a great job. Easy to apply, all you need is a sharp trimming knife, a spatula and a hair dryer. There are tutorials online or on the lamin-x site I think.

Top man, thanks for the help ;)

The lights are easy to split, I ran around mine twice with a hair dryer then I was able to pull them apart with my fingers :)

Do innards and then use vinyl on the outside for ultimate smoke :)
