Featured Replies

hi,

can anyone with the v8 maps tell me if the new m80 and m74 sections are included with these maps? was thinking of upgrading from the 7.5 on my car but wont if they arent on. bl**dy annoying as my other halfs £90 tomtom has them and its 18months old!

thanks.

Can't remember about the M74 but the M80 is definitely still the A80 according to V8 mapping. I passed through there just two weeks ago.

I've had my new car for just under 6 weeks now, so it should, I suppose, have the latest maps (whether thats V8, I've no idea) suffice to say the the `new` part of the A16 from Spalding to Peterborough is NOT on the map!

Apologies in advance for dimness...

How can I tell what version of map I have now? I know that some newish roads (the new section from Newark toward Leicester) aren't there for example. Should I have received a physical disk for my nav? My dealer said I didn't get one because all the data is on the hard drive and owners are not supplied with CD's. Bought my car a fortnight ago, one year old this month car, so want to make sure I get what I should have!

Yeah...I too would love to know if there is anywhere on the car I can find out what version I have.

I have been on the new section around Glasgow and acording to the map I was on the streets below, so no it is not. That was a couple of months ago and I took delivery of my car in April with V8 maps.

If you have relatively recent firmware you can hold down "Set Up" for 30 seconds until the test menu appears; this will give you your hardware, software and firmware versions If your car is an early one, you can only enable this test menu by hooking up to VCDS, as I had to do with the help of a very friendly Briskodian. Note that V8 is called 7623 (or similar).

Your dealer will not supply a disc without charge, but they are available on something called the interweb if you look intelligently.

By depressing the button for 30 seconds as advised above my Jan 2012 Combi is showing 7690.

You're definitely on Version 8.
