K&N,Pipercross?

Featured Replies

Is there any advantage in fitting one of these over the standard OEM air filter other than they last longer?

i fitted a k&n replacement filter a few weeks back. tbh you dont really notice much if anything. i did see a better fuel consumption, but i did switch to V power at the same time so that my have something to do with it

many stick to the oem filter, one main reason i changed mine was id used them before and over time it should save me some money by cleaning rather than replacing

I'll get a Green when my OEM needs replacing

I've got a K&N one on my Fabia vRS. I've heard Green ones rusts and Pipercross filters let too much muck through.

I changed it whilst on a rolling road and only gained 1.1 BHP over the dirty paper one. It may be slightly more now as the ECU has got used to it.

Had green cotton on the fabia made it a little less smokey and engine note was gruffer.

Can't say it's done anything on the octavia

You get a nice K&N sticker in the box, which when applied to the window gives your car at least a 10bhp increase.

Other than that, I think you hit the nail on the head :giggle:
