Can I add remote central locking

Featured Replies

Hi

I have just bought a 2012 Octavia CR S. It does not have remote central locking, I know it is a base model but a real pain.

I rang the Skoda dealer today and they said I might be able to just by a remote key fob and have it programed and it might work, £142.

It would seem to suggest the remote reciever is already in the car? I just need the key and have it synced and programmed?

1 Any body had this done?

2 Can anyone confirm the reciever is in the car Skoda just dont give the remote key on base model?

3 The part number of remote key fob for this model.

I was going to purchase a remote key kit of ebay and fit for £25 but if I can utilise genuine Skoda system would be my first choice.

All advice appreciated.

i'm getting the SE model because of the no remote fob, but i thought that the S doesn't come with the safe system so that would have to be installed as well but if there is a will there's a way

Hi, did you ever solve this question. I have been thinking exactly the same.

Thanks

When we bought our 1.9S at the end of 2009, the remote central locking was offered as a factory-fitted option, so I guess that it's something more than just providing and synching a key.
