Is there anyone on here, preferably in Bristol/South West, who programs spare keys?

Im not even in the same country, but Im quite sure if you do a little search in here you dont need vagcom or vcds to programme a new key for the mk1, if you have 1 good key already. 

from memory, put the good key in and  the ignition on, open the drivers window. put the new key in the outside of the drivers door and lock/ unlock the doors. i think you have to hold it in position for a length of of time that i cant remember, and might be another step, but its easy enough to do.
