Coolant advice

Featured Replies

Evening folks. Recently had a bit of car trouble, a rad hose sprang a leak on Sunday and we had to be recovered by the AA. I've replaced the hose that failed, but just need some advice on filling and bleeding the cooling system. I've got a 1.9 tdi pd130, but can't see a bleed point anywhere on the system.

Thanks

Marge

undo filler cap and idle to bleed system - should bleed through fairly quickly - top up as necessary

also turn heaters to hot (just incase system could have got air in heater matrix)

worth keeping a couple of litres of water/fluid in the car until you are sure all air is out and its holds its level

The sistem bleeds itself, you don't have to do nothing, just be sure the coolant level is ok.
