Treat it to some BP Ultimate now and again, to keep the injectors clean.

All diesel is the same bar 2.

BP ultimate is the diesel equivelent of super unleaded and is priced as such (it comes in petrol too so make sure you pick the right pump)

Shell diesel extra claims to be similar to BP ultimate but priced the same as normal diesel.

Due to the fact there is mainly BP near me and on my way to work I have never used Shell. I personally notice the difference between ultimate and normal and I also put Millers diesel power plus fuel treatment in it (you can get this from most independent motor factor shops)

ok, had my car for it's first day.... 215 miles today, and no problems, I'm surprised just how fast the car is, comming from a C2GT (not slow) the furby rocks! dealer left 1/4 tank of fuel in it, filled it up (with BP ultimate!) wondering how far I'll get on a tank seeing as it's being treated quite gently (only quite!) at the beginning...

just one thing , noticed smoke once (and only once) when accelerating in second from a roundabout..... is this normal? anyway... happy so-far ;)

lol..... don't think I've set off the traction control yet.. no flying starts yet..

up to 330 miles now, the gearbox has got smoother and less notchy, quite sweet to use now, still haven't filled up again yet, just installed my origin B2, and all going well......

Glad you are enjoying the car. I do similar miles and my 05 Fabia is up to 4500 miles now, still a peach though despite the odd flaw.

As for fuel Tesco is the best yet !

What I find is if I poodle along in the car for a lenght of time the unburnt diesel backs up in the exhaust then when you boot the car it shift all the unburnt diesel from the exhaust pipe in one go thus the smoke. Nothing to worry about TBH.

Has anyone seen a diesel that burns oil ? How would you be able to tell ?

k andy, I'll give the tesco stuff a try :) and yes really enjoying it, as someone else said here, it's fun to back people up at the speed limit, untill you hit a 60 zone, then fly away! lol... haven't stopped smiling yet ;)

chavboy, exactly the circumstances you described before the smoke, I was running a constant 40 mph in 5th for a good 10 mins, then kicked it off a roundabout in second.... I'll remember that so I don't get worried! lol...

 My only gripe is that the Furby is so economical, I'm losing out on lots of Clubcard points compared to my old 25mpg 90l tank Disco!!!!
