90% of the cooling is done in the 1st 1/4 - 1/2 of the cooler so when its going back through its not really doing much cooling so its just reducing the speed of the airflow.. twincore dont have 2b thinner.. but the seat sport + forge ones are both thinner than the 3" deep universal single pass coolers u can buy for peanuts.. the most gains of a single pass are on bigger turbos because of the faster airflow... but if the pipework is extra long u can loose that advantage..

so you lose any potential advantage on a Fabia because the turbo outlet and engine inlet being on the same side requires long pipework? the comment about 90% of the cooling being done in the 1st 1/4 or 1/2 is so broad it is essentially meaningless - apart from the actual application it depends on the dimensions of the core, the design of the core, the design of the end tanks, where the inlet and outlet are...

Think the topic title needs to be changed

Sounds like a great idea. Would the pipe work be something that matches up to the standard stuff or replaced through out?

I'm going for the whole shebang mate, I am trying to get a end made on a 90degree elbow, so then it can clip on the EGR like the OEM 90degree elbows do :D

If that fails then im going to uses the original elbow, cut the end of and then start the Pipwork from there. Also It will stop at the end of the turbo pipe like te other group buy, like said just toying around with bits etc.

I noticed in the other group buy that the pipe work looked good, so I contacted joe the seller but no reply yet!! If he will allow me to buy the the pipe work I need then will be on a winner, in general we need x2 elbows, x5 45degree elbows, x1 300mm alloys pipe, 45 degree metal pipe and the map sensor pipe. Also of course the jubilee clips or T clamps would be better.

If people are happy for me to start a group buy to other I will do so, the more names we get the better. There will be no money departed untill I'm happy the kit has gone together and worked as planned

180 degree sylicone bend on the end of the outlet.. run the outlet piping straight round the back of the cooler. Obviously the inlet is pretty much same length as on a twin pass. The only extra pipe is the outlet running behind the cooler (so the length of the cooler) but the air flow isnt restricted through that pipe like it is in the twinpass.. the main advantage is this way it can cost less than £200 all in compared to the £700/£800 for the forge kit.. when essentially it does at worst the same job..

Appologies for hyjaking the thread lol ^^

I cant see how they can justify selling it at that price! Coolers are so cheap on ebay, so what makes theirs so special they can charge an extra 500 +

Because its there already done, so people who cba doing what IM doing buys it lol. That's why I'm taking my time because at the most mine will cost to ha e made, and it's going to be a full setup nearly not half. Will still be 1/2 price of there's lol

Can't wait to hear more from this been composting on doing a kit myself but can't afford to make mistakes

I'm defo into doing this

Group buy is going up tonight, ringing ASH performance for hoses etc tommorrow. ATM with all pipe work and T bolt hose clamps, come to £130 and still need the MAP sensor pipe doing. If I can sweeten the deal on the hoses for 10 people for £110 will be wicked, then another £20-30 for map sensor pipe then £100 for the cooler ;)

Total £250 but time will tell yet as still loads to organsise and arrange

Mhmm liking the sound of it all

No artist but!!!!! This is how it would work, see how much Pipework it's has cut out, and no cable ties needed

Perfect

That long pipe is so nasty!! I would not want it held with cable ties and them ties rubbing into that coolent pipe

you will struggle to get a 90 bend down there unless it is took off centre or you get a longer cooler.

Already sourced this ;)

10mm coupling from the outlet, then a 90 degree METAL ELBOW sorted :D

ah yes never thought of doing that with your set up even though im doing something similar on my new set up. good work though mate looks like you are on to a winner.
