Sorry forgot to say that the intercooler on eBay, is pretty much the same dimensions as group buy ;)

you could get owt to fit,its the space and pipework that's the hard bit.

the one you've found, that's a pretty small twin pass cooler. .

I couldnt see that fitting atall sorry with the pipes at that angle with out being extremely offset.

I was just thinking that but, the eBay one might

the single pass coolers are more efficient coolers if u do the pipework right..

seat sport ones are only twin pass for ease of fitting by the manufacturer..

i got my single pass off ebay for £70 delivered

twin pass can be more efficient in terms of cooling, single pass better in terms of pressure drop

i was under the impression single pass were better all round except the long pipework.. hense all big power cars (jap cars/ 1.8Ts etc) use them.. bigger core area + bigger cooling area coming in contact with air. also thicker than twin pass especially seat sport cooler (i had one + alot thinner than my single pass). and faster flowing so better for bigger turbos (hybrids/ darkside etc.)

IC for a fabia seem to be a tough one, I really dont know why a company dont get one mocked up, i think there would be some money to be made for a company. The only one available that I know of is the forge one and there is no way on earth i am paying all that $$$, its an outrages price (my honest opinion) and after seeing one its so thin I was expecting something alot more meaty.

Pro alloy do do a couple of variations on their fmic for the fabia, are really are an amazing product. But the only downside is that you have to pay a fair bit for the intercoolers.

Well see I though the same, the eBay kit for £200 isn't for me as the pipe work looks good but messy. It really need bracket mate etc, Instead of cable ties lol.

I am going to use the one I found in eBay in picture 2, and see about a full pipe work set up instead of half set up. All parts come to around £200-£250 but that's with out, talking and getting some orders of say 10-15 people.

I live next door to a machine shop, so I will get the sensor pipe made. The pipe cost £6 and then just under £20 for each to have the sensor plate adaptor thingy, but again if we get more orders then will be even cheaper ;)

I am currently in the middle of sourcing all the correct silicone pipes, and metal pipes to go with the cooler. If anyone is seriously interested in this kit then let me know so I can get the ball moving.

£120 intercooler

£100Pipwork

Sounds interesting JudGe

go to ash for pipes mate best price for qaulity i have found

why does a twin pass core have to be thinner than a single pass core? less time spent in the intercooler equals less time being cooled

I am seriously intrested in getting this kit if u can make it work I want a twin pass but not payin forge price

why does a twin pass core have to be thinner than a single pass core? less time spent in the intercooler equals less time being cooled

90% of the cooling is done in the 1st 1/4 - 1/2 of the cooler so when its going back through its not really doing much cooling so its just reducing the speed of the airflow.. twincore dont have 2b thinner.. but the seat sport + forge ones are both thinner than the 3" deep universal single pass coolers u can buy for peanuts.. the most gains of a single pass are on bigger turbos because of the faster airflow... but if the pipework is extra long u can loose that advantage..

Cheers guys, well I have been doing loads of research and I ain't paying 600+ quid either haha. The intercooler is same side as the group buy but will be a twin pass, there for less pipe work and mess. ATM I am in the middle of talking to a friend who is going to make brackets for the cooler, so it can be straight buy and fit with little hassle as possible :D

I need a copy of the forge pipe so others can be made so, might have to buy one!!! Unless?? Some one has one that would be kind enought to tell me the dimensions etc. forge charge £30 odd + 15% VAT so just say £40, can Do the pipe for £20 odd ;) maybe a little more

The intercooler is £120 so going to email guy tonight to see how much, discount I can get with 10 or more depending in the people.

Also I'm trying, but don't hold me to this....... Of doing two versions, one is for people with EGR with the ends that clip in like OEM pipe, and secondly for people who wants kit and they have EGR.

I will hopefully start a group buy thread by next week :)

dno m8 i was guna ring em for trade discount over the phone (i work at VW).. u normally get 10-20% discount in the trade..

No worries, once I have sourced everything and spokene to the sellers for discount I will get the ball moving. I think I'm going to buy the set up and fit it and do a how to guide, then when group buy has been completed people can just follow the instructions :)

Sounds like a great idea. Would the pipe work be something that matches up to the standard stuff or replaced through out?

Deffo interested!
