Clutch pedal problem - sign of pedal box breaking?

Featured Replies

Hi all. I've noticed that my biting point is getting further towards the floor. Also, the first quarter of the pedal travel is very light. After this point the pedal stiffens, as if it's actually doing some work.

I've read a bit about the pedal box breaking, is this a symptom? Or is it just that my clutch is on the way out? Car has done over 130k, mostly motorway.

Cheers for any ideas / advice.

if clutch was going i would have thought the bite would be higher. Slave cylinder could be at fault or as you say pedal issue

Try bleeding and then changing the brake/clutch fluid first as it may have air or water in it.

Possibly - this is how my Lupo felt just before it broke, but could as equally be the cylinder
