Dont think 450bhp from a 2.2ltr race engine is that spectacular. F1 cars will be getting around 800-900bhp from 1.6 engines soon. Not a direct comparison but you know what i mean.

It is only designed to last a race distance so basically there is a lot of scope for tuning the ass off it.

Would be good to see some competition for Audi though as its getting very boring. Hope it does well and id rather there was more rivals for the Audi's as its not worth watching currently.

They have engineered it for a very low compression ration of around 14:1 which makes it possible to reduce engine weight.

I think it has a very high power rating for the engine size - an audi lmp1 would have to produce around 750 bhp.

It's a pity Peugeot withdrew and other manufacturers, except toyota, have not stepped up, or hidden in lmp2 as per nissan

Agreed it's v smart but they have no reason to put out a 250 bhp+ card when the competition is only outputting 190bhp (2.2 jag).

Audi talked about an a3 2.0 tdi clubsport with 220bhp but never sold it.

Going to Le Mans in 2013??

I bet it's a beast in mazda 6 guise to in terms of the torque output - could do with 4wd!

Anyone seen testing videos of either the lmp2 or mazda 6 running the 2.2 skyactiv-d racing engine please.

the Chateau Chanteloupe sure looks nice. I'll be near the circuit for three weeks, can't remember the name of the place but its in the middle of the circuit in the woods. lovely place, cost the boss near 11,000 quid for three weeks!

Yes, sorry bout the delay i forgot about this thread. We do the hospitality for greaves and status gp. Although i can't remember but i think one of them isn't doing this year. But i think also the boss has another lined up for it.

How long have you done the hospitatlity for - you don't remember Taurus Sports in 2004?

Na, last year was my first le man! Year before we did chevrolete world touring car. Last year we did British touring car for mg, elms and wec. Got pretty much the same this year maybe with more teams and looking at the blancpain and British gt also.

No, the car lasted about 4 hours but it was the first LMP1 diesel.

When Audi and Peugeot came in them allowed them to run vg turbos whereas taurus had to run wastegated turbos that don't have the wide spread of power.
