I just got my new Fabia Combi and I have a couple of questions that I hope you can help me with.

1. My car came without a stereo, but it is equiped to be fitted with one. I want to install a cassette head unit with a CD changer but I don't want to cut the wire harness of the car. What do you suggest?

2. The car came with an arabic user manual which to me might as well be in japeneese (as the translation is horible). Can any one tell me where I can download an english manual online?

Where the hell did you buy it from? No stereo and and wrong handbooks. I'd take it back to the dealer, or was it used?

The CD autochanger is available from a Skoda retailer and will fit under the passenger seat. As for the radio, anything will fit in there. It's a normal DIN sized one.

sherifs lives in Cairo! I don't know of any online source of Owner's Manuals - but you should be able to order an English language one from a Skoda dealer.

If you wanted to, I give you the number of a parts department here and we'd send it to you?

Not sure how much they are but they can't be that expensive!

Butts of Bawtry to genuine Skoda parts for mail order - they have a catalogue on their website which can be downloaded and viewed and sell a range stereos, adaptors, etc. Crucially - the catalogue also lists an owners manual (in English).

I've ordered a few bits from them in the past, including a genuine Skoda central locking kit for my Fabia. What with work and all that I often find it easier to mail order and have delivered to my business address. A good service.

I just wanted to thank everybody for their help....

Unfortunatly because of customs duty here in Egypt which are very expensive for cars, dealers try to reduce the prices anyway they can for example by ordering cars without stereos or a stripped down version of the car.

Anyway I am trying to upgrade mine to become a more comfortable and luxurious than what it is.

I will try the links you guys provided and will let you know.
