im getting a cluncking sound when i press the clutch peddal , the peddal is very high but its allways bin this way . went on the duel carage way today doing around 50/60 and the stearing wheel and gear stick shake like man ! if i press the clutch peddal it stops shaking ,,,

help any one !

Check adjustment of clutch cable, accessible on top of gearbox (the nut on end of cable with arm thing). If pedal high, suspect it needs loosening.

iv just had a new cluch put in the fun , and still getting same problems ! tracking is fine , wheels are balanced , right psi, could it be engine mounts ? where do i get them from which ones do i get ? would love some help

Hi Ric, sorry to hear you're having problems. You need to be careful not to keep throwing money at things you think may be the problem in the hope of a cure. Sounds like you've ruled the clutch assembly out unless a poor/incorrect fitting issue still exists (I've had a new clutch on a previous car cause no end of problems!). It strikes a bit odd your're getting that extent of vibration through both steering and gear linkage? It sounds drive related as depressing the clutch essentially stops it. Could be related to weak engine mounts but if it was me I'd probably seek some direct first hand advice from a local outlet to you. A small spend on up front investigation/analysis could save a fair bit on ongoing replacement until the right issue is found by default. Good luck & keep us informed

Rear engine mount? Had mine replaced last year. Felt better afterwards* (not that there was anything noticable before, just had it done whilst having a service)

^ Engine mount makes sense. Mine went in for timing belt/water pump today but being 13 years insitu made the water pump just a tad difficult to remove (to put it mildly!). Expect to collect tomorrow

i got the Engine mount done , but its made no real diference to it ! if anything its getting worse .. its now showing at lower speeds also , any ideas ?
