Auto Window closing if parked.

Featured Replies

Can the current FL Octavia be programmed to automatically close the windows if it rains while parked with

the windows open? Rain Sensors are fitted of course, but I've now got four very wet seats!

my pre-fl does it but i think it has to be locked for it to kick

Just had a look in the owners manual :p

needs to be enabled under "comfort" then "Rain Closing" in the maxidot

On vehicles with rain sensor you can switch on or off the

function for automatic closing of the windows and the

sliding/tilting roof in case of rain and locked vehicle. If it

is not raining and the function is set, the windows

including the sliding/tilting roof are closed automatically

after approx. 12 hours.

Can I add a rain sensor or is it part of the whole auto lights malarky?

Is this only on FL's? My 59L&K has rain sensors and I can close the windows with the fob. But there again, I don't leave the windows open when parking - until the time I do of course!

mine has this option (2007, MY08 model year) it can be enabled in the maxidot, mine's an L&K

Ah! but my 2011 FL doesnt have maxidot,so is a job for the dealer?

You can always press the window switch before you leave the car :giggle:

If you don't have maxidot, would it be a friendly neighbourhood VAGcom techie?

I find it rediculous that this feature should be built in with cars that have the right options but not enabled from the factory !

This is something i will be switching on when i get my vRS but the Leon FR i have at the moment (with auto lights, wipers etc) doesnt even have the option in the MFD (which is the equivelant of the maxidot) and my brothers mk5 golf (again with auto wipers etc) doesnt have the option on the computer. Seat and VW it would seem would like you to hack it yourself with the help of a friendly VAGCOM user or pay a dealer to do it for you :(
