I want to paint my calipers

Featured Replies

Front and rear calipers have developed unsightly surface rust and so I'd like to paint them in Skoda green. a search of Briskoda has revealed that Skoda don't sell it and that the factory have said it has a pantone code

"Thay used a Pantone reference color 348." apparently called Spring green or possibly Minz green.

Milotec sell some, http://milotec.de/product_info.php?products_id=1447&language=en&XTCsid=377c66aa8d9e022572f6e7b5a65c06fa

Has anyone any suggestions for caliper paint which will echo the badge and reflect the Skoda tradition?

I have considered and ruled out the obvious red.

Pantone 348 is the same green as Tesco milk labels for semi skimmed. Sorry mind of useless information.....

Thanks to both!

I will investigate the e-bay links and am grateful to know about Tesco's milk-no knowledge is ever useless but how did you know?

I work in the print industry and supply inks, I have a customer who prints a large percentage of milk labels.

I have ordered some e-bay paint-and will report. Cheaper than the German option quality, we'll see.

Thanks for the ink info-what a lot of different expertise there is on a literate forum!

The thing I've always thought about in doing this (painting callipers) is how clean do you have to get them before applying the paint. Also one presumably has to take the wheel of to get proper access for the brush.

It must be awfully easy to make a mess of it; isn't it?

I have always cheated-I have a good local garage with a great paint/body guy who works for himself out of hours and is very reasonable.
