LED Sidelights

Featured Replies

I just bought some LED Sidelights, do I need to program the car to accept these like I had to do with the HIDs?

The sidelights come on for a few seconds then go off again.

I know you can get these as canbus error free too but I would rather get the car programmed if it can.

I've canbus friendly ones in mine, never had any issues with them at all.

My mate sells them crazyleds.co.uk

I'm not sure you can program them , I have these no problem http://www.ebay.co.u...9#ht_2814wt_982

Gotta love Fizzmo! 10 x W5W for a tenner. Not canbus friendly but, interior and boot friendly. I fitted them in the Octy a couple of days ago. To say they're bright would be an understatement.

Can anyone try to post of photo of them. I'd love to see before and after ones. (with the lights on of course ;) )Thanks.

I'll take a pic tonight when it gets dark, can't take a before pic though lol

Thanks for that, ordered a set of these =)

Good timing too cos one of my sidelights doesn't come on all the time.

Make sure you have a good pair of needle-nose pliers and pull the bulb-holder as straight as possible......otherwise there'll be much swearing ;) ;)

Then snap the spring off the holder 2 min job then in future

I wouldn't know about that bit.....the in-line holders slide in and out without problem (I used non-canbus LEDs and in-line resistors)

Here you go, not amazing pics cos I took them with my phone.

I was pulled by the old bill and VOSA when I had mine in the cab was told to get them out as they are not white

Can someone explain the point of LED sidelights to me? (or LED number plate lights for that matter!)

I must be missing something..

Been through last 2 council mots with them fitted no problems, they are xenon white

Brighter, more visible, use less energy, more appealing colour than sickly yellow although the LED's that you are choosing cant be that cheap blue/white you find a lot of chavs driving round with, they need to be bright white at most 6000 kelvin in colour temperature preferable 5000K.

Im sure there are more but thats why i would upgrade, only if i can find a set brighter than my filament bulbs

I have them on the Fun Truck on the number plates purely because when one of the filament bulbs went, I discovered you have to take the tailgate apart to release the holders from the inside. Having LEDs installed meant that that's not going to happen for a very very long time ;)

For those that have HID, the dank yellow of a filament doesn't do justice to the HID. LED corrects the colour imbalance.

LEDS in the interior and puddle lights transforms them completely. You can now actually see the ground clearly. :)

......more reliable / longer lifespan.
