Ok so I'm looking at buying a DVD head unit which would take a double din facia now would any double din fascia be ok or would each unit take a different fascia?

Get hold of the ones on eBay that are for a single din stereo in a double din slot. They have a thin plastic bar through the middle which you can cut out. Reason for it is it's 75% cheaper to do it this way and they're the same as a double din facsia.

Or even better, get the official thin strip for the top from a Skoda dealer that requires no modification, fits perfect, and matches the dash plastic perfectly - and even better will give you change from a fiver.

As anewman said you only need the strip from the main dealers for above the hu as a double din fits the same as single din but just replaces the pocket as well. Costs about £3 from dealers
