Estate Cover Broken

Featured Replies

The cover blind for the boot on my 61 reg vrs estate has broken on one side so it wont 'click' into place.

I'm pretty sure it was the missus that had the car but I've no idea if she 'misused it' or it's just snapped. As its due it service in a week or so do you reckon they'll do it under warranty? The latch that it catches onto seems to have snapped.

Any ideas on a DIY fix? Cheap part?

If it has been subject to normal use this shouldn't happen so I would work on the principal it is a warranty job. On our old toyota estate the handle on the boot cover came away from the fabric. Whole unit was replaced under warranty with no issues

I don't know if it's been misused. Missus doesn't seem to think so.

Is it up to me to prove I haven't misused it or them to prove I have?

Warranty will cover it. When you take it for the service tell them then to have a look. Don't mention anything about you not knowing of it's been misused or not. It's failed so it should be a warranty replacement

Spoke to a different dealer I normally use, although I have used these before, and he said there's little chance it'll go under warranty if it's broken as Skoda will reject it.

Any ideas on how to replace it anyone?

Any chance of a pic??

Even better , i reckon that should be a warranty job

I still say warranty job

if not warranty then i would see pop the panel off and see if it has just unclipped form the main plastic panel

A bits still there, it's snapped off. Hopefully part is cheap.

Skoda guy said there were 2, one with trim and one without.

The small unit with the securing lugs are seperate to the boot side trim. I have seen a few fall out. Sometimes they can be found down the back of the trim. I have replaced a number of these under warranty.

Warranty
