Custom Map tommorow @ Badger 5

but we both concluded that there was very little performance difference between the Revo stage 1 map and the Shark stage 1 map.

I'm sure there's sufficient variation in the output of the factory OE engine to warrant a direct comparison of two different cars unscientific. You'd really need to try the different maps on the same car (and then test under identical conditions etc etc etc) but taken as it was it's an interesting comparison, though I thought I'd read somewhere that you thought the REVO map was noticeably stronger?

I'm sure that if each map is tweaked to compensate for inter-vehicle variation then more consistent optimum results might be seen, for example Ben managed to map around a slightly shagged turbo problem I had and got pretty close to the expected headline power numbers.

I never claimed the comparision to be scientific but in my experience there isn't a noticeable variation between identical models of similar age in terms of performance. On a dyno there may be variations of say 1 or 2 bhp but generally speaking VAG cars put out the claimed power and torque figures.

The point I was making was that the Revo stage 1 performance mode 2 map was stronger than the standard Shark stage 1 map based on personal experience but I did also say that it's like comparing apples and pears as I presume the Shark map can be updated to a 98ron mode in the same way as Revo but I don't know.
