DPF removal and health issues on CR engines

Featured Replies

So, I've been told that DPF removal on CR engines is much worse for people's health than DPF removal on PD engines as the particulates emitted are a lot smaller with CR and therefore can more easily enter your lungs.

Any truth to this?

I doubt it.

The DPF filter on the CR is as far as I am aware the same as the one on the PD.

The only difference being that the CR DPF has a catalyst built onto it to allow it to run hotter more of the time.

If the soot particles produced by the CR were of a different size then I'd expect them to change the level of filtation of the DPF too?

Doesn't mean that it's not trapping PM5 instead of PM10.

I'm not saying that it is true, but only that the DPF doesn't affect the size of the particulates coming from the car.

PMS?

PMS?

If only you could buy a filter for that. £1k every few years would be a bargain.
