Ouch has it damaged the surface or just the paint?

Damaged the surface in some places. The standard finish wasn't great anyway so I had planned to get them refurbed. Just not so soon :D

Ahh that's a shame as paint damage could've been temporarily touched up. Nice wheels IMO they set the car off nicely something a bit different from the usual choice of spiders even though I do like them as well.

Ah hard luck, Charlie... but has given you an excuse :D

After some gentle persuasion by Leenel88 I am going to dubs mania on the 1st June.

Got a few bits I want to get done before then, so a few little updates to follow.

In the mean time, Dave (daveandLolli) followed me for the first lap around castle Combe at the spring action day. Here's his video

Excuse the sound though

I blew up a rear brake pad :(

Holy turd..! I've never seen that happen before..! :/

Seized caliper, too much heat?

I've had that, all I had left was the pad backing plate! Made a terrible noise when braking! I'm guessing you run vented rear brakes? You can get shiny new pair fully painted up for about £110 on Ebay ;) pm me if you need a link

  • Author

Shouldn't be. They've only been on for 2 years and fitted the caliper release springs to help too.

  • Author

Thanks Joe. Yes I've got vented discs. If you could PM a link that would be great

Think I found the problem.

Here's the "matching" pad

Not sure if I should fully remove it and repaint it black or find a new colour and do all of them

The chassis that holds the vacuum box was looking a bit of a state, but I'd run out of paint. So used some left over brushed aluminium vinyl to wrap it. Looks ok I think :)
