I got the turbo from Jason (devonutopia) but had it rebuilt/ hybridised by dirty torque. They have agreed to cover the fitting costs etc

Are they doing anything with regards the failure or was it not something they touched that failed??

They're taking it back to inspect it. I'd imagine it is something that must have been done/ should have been done but possibly missed?? Who knows

Before I ventured off in a petrol direction I did look at turbos and I have to say the Xman GTB1756 does look like a cracking buy at a sensible price.

It does seem like a cracking deal

Fitted a B&M short shifter today after searching for a few years with nothing listed at all.

Opening the box it has precise instructions, not all are relevant to the Fabia.

First impressions it's a nice looking item that is very well machined

Lined up against the original shifter

And fitted

The first noticeable difference is that you have to lift the shifter to get it into reverse instead of pushing down on it.

Test drive has to wait til tomorrow as I've re bonded some parts of the grille so waiting for the tiger seal to dry
