Right, this could be a bit of a drag, and probably highly repetitive for most of the regulars, but please bear with me!

As you'll notice, I'm a new member, and not a Skoda owner. I am hoping to change that as of tomorrow with a Fabia VRS order set to go in.

Now I've always liked modifying cars for the end result, but I've got little to no expertise in how to do it or the best products/people to use.

In short I'd like a list of must haves and desirables for the Fabia VRS if anyone can or wants to help out with what to me seems like a torturous task! Any experiences with regards to best tuning company, best value for money, equipment etc etc etc. I've also noticed somewhere on here that there are Eibachs available at the dealer, is that any dealer or just specialists, and are there any other 'skoda approved' mods available?

Thanks in advance to anyone who has the energy to offer anything!

Welcome to the forum.

Have you had a road test in a vRS,

and had a good chance to see what is like as standard?

Lots of info on modifications in the Fabia 2 section

& other owners vehicles choice mods in the Project section.

Have fun with it, when you get your car.

I have indeed taken it out for a test, for the money it's a good piece of kit, it just needs a bit more noise and drama! I have had a browse of the forums, but nothing is all that clear to find and having never owned a Skoda before I've no idea where to start with tuners and kit. Was hoping to glean some experience from the forum users!

fabia II forum best place to go...

you can have lots :)

exhausts, springs, coilovers, remaps/tuning boxes, the list goes on ! :)

and yes all skoda dealers can order the eibachs :)

Ok so I put my order in, when doing so mentioned the Eibachs as I've seen it mentioned a few times on the forums that they're a dealer fit option that won't affect warranty. The dealer had no idea about this though? Is there anything else like this I should be mentioning to the dealer? i.e. options that aren't on the official Skoda list?

On another warranty related question, what kind of things can I get away with adding without ruining my warranty? I know some companies are more relaxed about modifications than others, for example an exhaust system wouldn't cause a suspension failure therefore the warranty remains valid. Are Skoda similar or more strict?

the springs are not an "option" on the vRS but they are right there in the skoda parts catalogue... I was pricing them up and the parts lady had them up on here screen to show me.... so deffo skoda supply and fit if you ask.

Right, finally had a build week for the car, and at last had an answer from the dealer RE the Eibachs. Not knowing what to expect, is £379 fitted a good price on them?

Also, tuning boxes and induction kits, any recommendations? Don't much fancy a remap even though I know the power delivery will be smoother as I can't be doing with having to revisit the supplier after each time I get the car serviced! Any happy experiences with any particular companies?

Peter, i really think you will get lots of replies to those questions in the Fabia II section.

There are recent exhaust & remap threads.

Not so sure that you are correct on the power delivery being any smoother with a remap.

The car is pretty smooth as it is all the way to its maximum as a standard car.

7 speed in 'D' & 6 speed in 'S', which is possibly where it is less smooth.

It does not lack urge.

I can not see where it could get smoother.

Enjoy your car when it arrives.
