hi wonder if anyone can help just picked up my new 62 plate octavia estate with Amundsen sat-nav fitted but appears to be no disc or sd card for back up if any thing goes wrong was told by dealer that they hold the info on their hard drive and if anything goes wrong they will re-install the map during the warrenty period anybody heard this or are they pulling a fast one

You have bought a brand new car and they arent giving you a disc? I think they should give you the one that would of come with the car in teh wallet they receive with the car that includes things like the manual, service book, keys, oil and cover etc if they throw a paddy whack ring up Skoda UK as I believe you should have one!

I know with regards to the Columbus when I had my Octavia delivered mid July there was no disc as the factory install the map directly on to the hard drive. The dealer will update the maps as they occur for £49.99 from their "master" disc. Allegedly, physical discs aren't provided anymore with the Columbus.

I was under the impression the Amundsen does not have a hard drive so really a physical disc should have been provided?

I think the + version has Flash Ram for the maps. The non + version has to store the info on disc (which I had supplied with car) or it can be copied to SD card and the disc removed.
