Question about wiring, 1994 Felicia

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm driving a very green 1994 Felicia which I have affectionately dubbed "the green lightning" (my wife is even starting to adopt this name). In spite of the age it's in nice condition and it has been running like a a charm since I bought it 1½ years ago. Far more stable than our 2005 Zafira, I guess partly due to its simplicity.

Anyway, encountered an interesting problem a few days back: The clock stopped ticking. At first I made the assumption that it must have run on some kind of small battery which had gone flat. However, as it turns out, the cigarette lighter has also stopped working, presumable at the same time. I use this for drawing power to a MP3 player so I quickly found out that it was non-functional.

My working assumption is that this is no coincidence and that the problem was due to either a broken wire or a blown fuse. Does anyone have the knowledge to confirm that this could be the case?

If so, I might try to hunt it down and fix it myself once I figure out where to look. As far as mechanics go, I'm as nOOb as can be, but straghtforward electrical circuits I could diagnose.

If anyone has feedback it would be much appreciated :-)

Cheers

/Martin

Sounds like a blown fuse to me. The fusebox is in the passenger footwell, if you undo the plastic screw it will flip down and you;ll be able to look for any blown fuses.

^ Agree with Fordfan had much the same problem on mine. Worth carrying some spare fuses in different ratings ;)

the fuse you want is Fuse number 15 from left 15amp

IIRC there's spaces for spares on the fuse/relay plate. (soooooooooooooo long since I looked at the fuses in mine)
