Adjust Webasto temperature

I haven't managed to find a way to set the temperature for my auxiliary Webasto heater. It starts up at 22 deg centigrade by default. This may sound like a dumb question, but is there any way to get the Webasto to cool the cabin down? Or is it totally separate from the air condition system? Yeah, as I write this, I can see it's a contradiction that a heater should work as a cooler, but have to ask ;)

I confirm it can't cool, only heat!

I can set it to cool in Maxidot.

i can confirm that it can start the fans without ac. It will slightly cool the car inside with movment of air inside the car. You change the settings on maxidot ! From heating to ventilation !

And the temperature it cools to is the latest AC setting.

Webasto heater cannot cool it just ventilates on the ventilation setting. Cooling would require AC compressor to work with Webasto preheater.

Ventilation might delay the temperature rise in the cabin but it won't 'cool' it. The outside air is seldom so 'cool' that it could actually 'cool' the cabin in ventilation mode.

This it easy to measure by putting a temperature gauge in side. One can see from the gauge that there is no difference in the cabin temperature after starting ventilation mode.

My 55 plate VW Touran had a webasto heater installed in it, and it came on if the temp outside was below 6 degrees C.

Stinks like paraffin and made the car smoke like the underside was on fire, but made a huge difference to how quick the car got to full working temp.

If you want to change the 22 degC you may find this useful:

Climatronic: Adjust the temperature to 22°C

The fastest way to obtain a comfortable climate (temperature) in the vehicle, is by adjusting the temperature to 22°C.

Hence if personal health conditions demand, only a regulation in the adjustment is necessary.

-Switch on ignition

Check if the displays (displays) indicate 22 °C.

If adjustment of temperature is necessary, proceed as follows:

-By turning the temp-regulators -1- and -2- adjust the temperature to 22 °C for both halves of the vehicle

-Press key -3- for automatic operation. On the button -3- (AUTO switch on the the climatronic control) warning light comes on

-Switch off ignition

As for the ventilation to start up via Webasto remote, I don't know for the factoryfitted unit.

For retrofitted aux heaters there for sure is a possibility if you have the ThermoCall remote.
