Meant to put this up a few weeks ago but its been ok until last night

Alarm seems to go off for no reason always seems to happen around 2-4am I need to get it vagvom'd again but sure it said something like voltage drop to alarm (will confirm when I get chance)

Bloody annoying as u can imagine happened a few times now

For ref main battery on car seems absolutely fine always starts first time even if left for week or so.

I had something similar and it went back to the dealers and they "updated the software" and so far no re-occurances, much to the neighbours relief.

I've read a few post people say shut the air vents so trying that one tonight....

Thing is it only happens say 1 or 2 times a week

I spoke to blade skoda they said about booking it in as maybe set too sensitive which.I have read a few reviews about factory settings left on 100% I don't intend to spend dealer fees unless I have to so gonna try and change the sensitivity through vagcom

Mines a bit over sensitive, sometimes I'll see the hazard lights flashing, other times the alarm will be going off. There's always an explanation though, It's either a fly or a moth.

Hi Guys

Sorry to dig this thread up again but i recently purchased a VRS 2009 Estate. The Alarm has gone off three times in as many weeks, the first few times at around 3-4 in the morning and then again this morning at 05.30

I have isolate the motion detector inside the car by pushing the button on the door pillar before locking it, i have also tried pushing the ey locking button twice when leaving it. I have checked for flies / moths etc.

The only thing i can currently think of is that there is a nesting bird in a bush in my front garden and i have seen him come out and perch on the Roof rail but i havnt seen any  alarms during the day. Also we had a huge hail stone storm recently and that didnt kick off the alarm something that used to do it for my Audi.

I just rang he local skoda and as always it is £100 just to diagniose the issue and then i am sure there will be further charges to "update the software" or alter sensitiviy if that is the issue.

Thoughts welcomed

It could be a faulty door/bonnet/boot switch causing the false alarm if the internal sensor being disabled makes no difference.

FInd someone local with VCDS it might be the siren. Could be anything.

Our 2009 TDI does this when the weather is damp i.e,. condensation forming at night. Never happens in daytime but at night after rain, there is a strong chance Matilda will start wailing and flashing in the wee small hours.....

Not sure if it is co-incidence, but the frequency seems to have dropped since I stopped keeping the aircon on when demisting the windscreen.

Tenous link but the only thing that I have changed.

On older Vag models the alarm siren had a backup battery inside. These were notorious for leaking and then the alarm would go off randomly. Might be worth considering ?
