My VRS MK2 Project

Featured Replies

Bought my VRS Fabia back in July to replace my PD 170 Octavia VRS which had served us well for 6 years , I know the cars well as my mum has a race blue one which she bought back in June 11.

I contacted the dealer who had supplied my mums Fabia (Aaron in Caffyns , Ashford) and asked if he knew of any new green and black MK2's around.

He found me this car at UK posts it had shortly arrived for another dealers stock , i think the only options on it were mats, cruise and reversing sensors

So collected it and gave it a full detail and started to work out what i needed to buy for it

It was clear that it needed lowering , so I took it to the performance car specialists that used to maintain my Evo for me , Autotorque in Aylesbury (http://www.autotorque.net/) who supplied and fitted a set of Eibach springs, a Whiteline RARB and set the geometry up correctly , they also checked the car for loose bolts and I was shocked to find quite a few so a few clunks and bangs that I did have over bumps have now gone

Much happier with the handling now and the ride its not at all harsh nor is clearance an issue, in fact i think its looks more factory it may well drop a little lower with some more miles on it

Did pop over to Castle Coombe on Saturday for the Action day , was on with my old car club , didnt take it on track but I have only just tipped over the 1000 mile mark
