My favorite comment has to be "should buy a used subaru p1 instead"

Aye because thats a perfectly justifiable alternative......... Fanny

It's absolutely laughable. "oh you could buy an m3 for that" well yes you could but then go and insure, tax and service it. Morons

That vrs distroyed the renault Clio cup, £13k for a vrs is great value nothing on the market comes close

Sheesh...Where do some people get off at? I've seen fewer cocks in a farmyard.

Comparing the new price of a vRS to any choice of second hand offerings? Clever...

What an interesting read of small minded morons! Did like the comment from the bloke who said "give me my 5 year old S Type Jag". Surely he meant very expensive Mondeo.

As said, for £13k not much comes near it for performance, add a remap for a few hundred quid and your laughing.

Just my tuppence worth.

I wonder if there is any other brand getting so much flack.

I am 99% sure it's a UK thing, I've never come across such attitude in quite a few european countries that I've been to... Quite the contrary to be honest. People seem to know well what Skoda is today.

This reminds me.....i seen a mk1 fabia today with a sticker under the fabia badge saying "volkswagen group" think someone must be getting alot of stick and got fed up always saying "its just a vw"

I had someone slag off my Mk1 vRS saying it was "only a Skoda". They then proceeded to drive off in a bog standard burgundy Vectra. Sure Skodas have their faults but for this money for a new car it's a bargain

Just the misguided comments of the ill-informed.

ill happy destroy astra vxrs civic type rs time after time.

it doesnt bother me if people say my cars ****e haha. cause when it comes down to it my car top trumps pretty much everything lol.

It all started when skodas and ladas arrived in the uk, it was the British car manufacturers misinformation beaureu, dishing all the rubbish as they didn't want to loose sales, although they managed to do that themselves selling crap cars lol ;)

I juat wanted to slap cheecky buggers, do they realise that a wee car with 180bhp goes lyk s*it off a shovel.

Im 23 and insurance at the end of this month £320 for the next year!! :D big smiles.

Concidering a saxo 1.1 is gonna cost 20 quid less so cant say better then that

I had a shock when the insurance company refunded me £60 over my Mk1 vRS. £480 isn't bad at all

when are people going to learn an audi, VW, or Seat's are just Skoda with expensive badges on bonnet, boot and steering wheel

simples

Totally rats me off reading that everyone quoting 0-60 in 7.3 seconds. It clearly says 62 so why compare it to other cars actual 0-60 results!!

HUKD used to be a great site in the early days, now it's full of absolute w*nkers. Unfunny troll central.

Does the £13k include all the trips to the dealer, the new oil, the new sparkplugs and the cost of the hire cars for when it's getting fixed?

:notme:

Sure warrenty covers most of that, the hire car the oil the plugs etc.

Thats funny because whenever i visit my local dealer they seem to have all the Skoda range in the workshop , speaking from experience my new Superb and my old VRS Octy have both spent their fair share of time in there after failing during the warranty period , didnt need a hire car nor did I have to pay a penny either

All cars go wrong from time to time

My vRS on order with most options is about £15k.

It's possible,I think, to see almost £30k for an A1 5 door with the same engine.

OK the Audi is the better car (but is it as spacious as a Fabia?), but double the money is stupidity.

A1 is tiny in comparison (well, to my Estate, anyway). They have to pay for those glitzy showrooms somehow...

I know :)

It's all in gest!

The stigma is always gonna be there! Was talking to a guy outside a cafe on the Cumbrian run asking me about the cars stats and he went "not bad for a skoda!"

In a way a love driving a car that people think is ****e especially the looks I get when I beat them at the lights and they have to see the sticker on the back saying it's a skoda, honest!
